Who we Are:
Michael Yanovitch, Course Coordinator and Instructor
A certified building official with a broad range of knowledge gained since 2003 serving as Building Inspector and Building Commissioner in several communities including the City of Boston, Brookline, Walpole, Newton and Hingham. Prior to inspecting Michael was employed as an apprentice and then journeyman carpenter working in and around the greater Boston area as a member of Carpenters' Local 33. A seasoned instructor delivering education to many of the major general contractors in and around Boston, as well as hundreds of individual CSL holders in the Area. Michael has also been a guest speaker at organizations such as the Builders and Remodeler's Association of Greater Boston(BRAGB) and Eastern Massachusetts National Association of the Remodeling Industry (EM NARI). A Certified Building Commissioner in the State of Massachusetts and licensed Construction Supervisor, Michael sat on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Building Commissioners and Inspectors Association, sits on the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts Code Committee, AGC Construction Fire Safety Partnership and is a member of the International Code Council. On the consulting side Michael has assisted applicants with code reviews and interpretation as well as assisted with securing permits in City’s and Towns such as the City of Boston, Cambridge and the Town of Brookline. He has also represented clients at the Architectural Access Board, State Board of Examiners for Plumbing and Gas and has appeared before the State Building Code Appeals Board.
Michael’s most important and most loved job is being a dad to his daughters. He is also Varsity hockey coach at Brookline High.
